How the J/80 Series Scores are Computed
The results for each night are posted separately, in order of overall position for the night. Position for the night has no bearing on the overall series score.
Raw Score is the total of a boat's scores for all of the races. Byes are counted as zero.
Total Throw Outs is the total of the scores allowed to be thrown out based on the total races sailed in the series to date. One throwout is allowed for every four races sailed.
After Throw Outs is the difference between Raw Score and Total Throw Outs.
With Byes adds the bye (average) scores for those boats that have earned byes. The bye (average) score is determined by dividing the After Throw Outs total by the number of races contributing to that score, which is computed by subtracting the number of byes and the number of throwouts from the total races sailed.
Standing is the current place based on the above calculations.
