The LWSA sponsors informal Laser racing on Wednesday evenings. The core of this event is students and graduates of the youth sailing school using Lasers from the LWSA Sailing School. LWSA members are welcome to sail any extra boats.
Anyone with a Laser is welcome to join in on any evening. The boats leave Smith cove at 6:00pm. You may launch from the sailing school or simply join the group on the water. Sailing is usually around a small course set up east of Lockes Island or in Sanders Bay between Lockes Island and Varney Point. The starting system is three minute whistle starts and the course is verbally hailed from the committee boat.
All participants are required to wear a coast guard approved PFD.
