The LWSA David Adams Memorial Sailing Center
In recognition of the sailing accomplishments of a local New Hampshire sailor, David Adams, and in memory of his courageous battle against the disease that finally took his life, the LWSA’s Board of Directors, with the support of its membership and with the permission of Dave’s family, have endorsed the concept of establishing The LWSA David Adams Memorial Sailing Center on the shores of Lake Winnipesaukee.
The LWSA is currently in negotiations with the State of New Hampshire’s Department of Resources and Economic Development (DRED) to utilize a portion of the waterfront at Ellacoya State Park in Gilford to establish this new center. Much work remains to be done to gain final approval from DRED and there will need to be a lot of fund raising and grant applications to supply the necessary dollars, but the concept is gaining widespread approval on all fronts.
