Hunter 216 Sportboat with Trailer                                                                             $6,950

This boat has been on Lake Winnipesaukee its whole life.    Its most recent owner did not use it much in recent years, and generously donated it to our organization.

This is a well equipped 2008 boat (HIN # HUN22563D808) with a Yamaha 4hp motor and a LoadRite trailer.

The Hunter 216  is a truly modern sport boat from the drawing board of noted sport boat designer, Glenn Henderson -- a truly a fun boat to sail. Whether you are a novice or a seasoned skipper, you will appreciate the forgiving nature of the rig, the stability of the hull and the simplicity of sailing it. The innovative underbody will provide exhilarating performance when pushed with the ability to power down whenever needed. The large cockpit will accommodate the crew with comfort and the cuddy can handle a portable head and a V-berth with storage. A special hydraulic mechanism allows for effortless lifting of the lead keel, and a unique raiseable VARA inboard rudder gives real performance with true beaching ability. Construction is by Hunter's patented Advance Composite Process which combines thermoformed UV protected plastic, fiberglass mat and injected foam. The result is a tough, almost maintenance-free hull that is virtually unsinkable.

Here are some comments from the manufacturer:

The ultimate daysailer with great overnighting capability! The ACP-constructed 216 is the largest thermoformed boat in the world, and won the NMMA's highly-coveted Innovation Award in 2004 for its pioneering design and construction methods. The large cockpit accommodates six in comfort, while the extra-large cuddy is fun for overnighting, with an optional v-berth and space for a portable head. The special hydraulic lift mechanism allows for effortless lifting of the lead keel, while the unique lifting VARA inboard rudder delivers real performance with true beaching ability.

The boat is super easy to transport, rig and launch yourself.  No need for yard fees!  Included is a LoadRite galvanized Custom Trailer w/Mast Crutch, Winch, Padded Bunks, Rear Mast Support and Trailer Tongue Jack.

Important Note:   Most, if not all, 216's have experienced superficial cracking of the outer skin in the deck area, which typically happens early in the boat's life and does not progress further.  It is not structural, as it does not affect the inner layers and has continued to be a sought-after boat.  On this boat there are several cracks on the cabin top, which are shown in the pictures.
