Tanzer 22 Family Cruiser with Trailer                                                                         $3,950

This boat was donated by a local family who has moved on from sailing.  It  is fully equipped and ready to go.

It is an older boat with plenty of miles left on it, that looks much newer than its years, and will provide plenty of fun for the whole family for a very small price.

A freshwater boat, it has been on Winnipesaukee for a long time. It was last used in 2012, at which time it was shrink-wrapped.  It stayed clean and dry for that whole time with absolutely no sign of moisture or mold.  A lot of stuff was left on board, as you will see in the pictures. It sits on a sturdy Load Rite trailer.

The TANZER 22 was the most popular of all the Tanzer models, with over 2200 built.

It has a big cockpit with room for the whole family, and a flush deck which provides for lots of sunbathing space.  Below there is more room than first meets the eye, with a double vee berth forward and a dinette berth to port with a quarter berth opposite.   It has a reputation as a responsive and lively sailer that is very stiff when the breeze comes up.

This boat is unusual as it is one of the hard-to-find models with a swing keel. With the keel cranked up, you can launch and retrieve the boat yourself from the trailer without dealing with costly boatyard fees.  The mast is hinged on deck, so it can be easily raised by two people - also without professional help.

Here is a comment from  one owner we read about:    "We've sailed on Tanzer 22s since 1979," said Mrs. Bailey, "and like the roomy cockpit and the solid feel of the boat. It's a great boat for children, as the cockpit is so deep and spacious. Our two children have been sailing on our 22 since they were babies."

Sails include a Mainsail, Jib, and Genoa, all in decent condition.  The interior cushions are very clean and do not show any wear.  Also included is a full set of like-new cockpit cushions - an expensive proposition if you were to purchase them separately. There is a sturdy adjustable outboard motor bracket on the stern.  The boat has lifelines all around, with a sturdy bow pulpit and stern rail - a great safety feature for the kids.
